LSC2017, International Conference on Advances in Liquid scintillation Spectrometry is the next of a series of conferences on LSC. The LSC series conferences started in 1957 in Chicago (USA), and have in more recent years taken place at Karlsruhe (Germany) 2001, Katowice (Poland) 2005, Davos (Switzerland) 2008, Paris (France) 2010, and Barcelona (Spain) 2013. The LSC2017 is the 23^rd edition of the LSC conferences.

Liquid Scintillation Counting (LSC) is an important radiometric technique for determination of radionuclides and is applied in many fields. Although LSC has been developed for more than 60 years, the development and improvement in the LSC instrumentation and methodology are still continued throughout the world. The application of this technique has been extended to wide fields beyond the nuclear related work.  The International conference on Advances in Liquid Scintillation Spectrometry provides a forum to the researchers in all fields where LSC techniques is used, to present the new development in the instrumentation and methodology and to share the knowledge, as well as to exchange the experiences.

The LSC2017 conference in Copenhagen will continues this series and seeks to provide an appropriate forum for discussing the latest developments and applications.  Specialists and users of LSC are encouraged to attend and contribute with their experience. Young scientists are especially welcome.

The LSC2017 conference covers all aspects of LSC, the main topics are:

  • New development on LSC instrumentation, methodology and scintillators
  • Radionuclide Metrology Using LSC
  • Calibration, standardization, and quality assurance
  • Data evaluation and spectrum analysis
  • Applications in environmental radioactivity
  • LSC in nuclear chemistry (decommissioning,  waste processing,  nuclear materials)
  • Applications in bioscience, medicine, and drug studies
  • Applications in natural radionuclides measurement, chronology and geology
  • LSC in neutrino and neutron detection
  • Plastic scintillator and application
  • Applications based on alpha/beta spectrometry

The LSC2017 conference will be organized by the Center for Nuclear Technologies, Technical University of Denmark (DTU Nutech).
Conference chairman: Prof. Xiaolin Hou
Conference secretary: Mrs. Helle Tofte Holm, Mrs. Birgitte Sindholt
