Dear Colleague,
Greetings from Mangalore, India.
I am happy to inform you that we are organizing the Second International Conference on Po and Radioactive Pb isotopes (INCO-PoPb-2013) in Mangalore University,Mangalore, India during February 10-13, 2013. You may recall that the first conference in this series was held at University of Seville, Spain during October 26-28,. 2009 and about 150 scientists from about 40 countries attended this conference and it was considered as a great success.
The scientific community working in the field of Po and Pb isotopes is looking forward for the Second Conference in this series and there is an overwhelming feeling that this conference should beheld periodically once in every 2-3 years. Hence, the second conference in this series is being organized with representation from different countries and we are trying to get the best scientists in the field for plenary talks. The topics to be covered are: analytical methods to determine 210Pb and 210Po, their concentrations and behaviour in the environment, their use as tracers and chronometers, and dose assessment. I am attaching the first announcement of the conference to this mail.
It is planned to publish selected papers presented in the conference in a special issue of a Journal of Environmental Radioactivity. In addition to this, extended abstracts of all papers presented in the conference will be published as proceedings of the conference. Prof. Elis Holm, NRPA, Norway, Prof. Mark Mahalingam Baskaran, Wayne State University, USA, Prof. Des Walling, University of Exeter and Prof. Rafael García-Tenorio, University of Seville are involved in planning and organizing this conference.
We have opened the conference website and now onwards we will be updating all the information in the website. The website address is
